Yazd: Zoroastrian tower of silence

If you like to travel to the world of the dead, you should visit the Zoroastrian tower of silence (crypt). This tower is one of the relics of the Zoroastrian religion, located 15 km southeast of Yazd, near the Safaieh region, on a low mountain. First, it is good to know what a crypt is. They are buildings made of raw clay that has been used in ancient times to put the bodies of the dead in them.
To reach the crypt, you have to climb the stairs to reach the circular structure of the crypt. There are two crypts named Mankeji and Golestan on a low mountain. In the middle of the crypt, there is a pit where the bones were buried. Zoroastrians buried the bodies of their dead there to feed on predators and birds. So, only their bones would remain. The bodies of women, men, and children each had their own place. It is interesting to know that in the religion of Zoroaster, death is not the end of life; it is the beginning of a journey to another world. This method of burial was common for a long time until it was completely banned in the Pahlavi.
Now, this place is a fantastic choice for visitors who love excitement. You can visit here by car, taxi, internet taxis, and city buses. You should know that it may not be accessible to people with disabilities or the elderly.

Nooshabad, the underground city

The underground city of Nooshabad is another place of interest near Kashan. Accidentally, it was discovered by a person who was digging a well in his house! The city has a unique and intelligent architecture. But why is it located under the ground? This place has winding corridors, small and large rooms, defensive traps, which were supposedly used during the enemy’s invasion. It has expanded in both horizontal and vertical levels. In addition to building passages for people, its shape also lets air enter and leave. It seems that they would do anything to survive!
Now let’s go into the details of this underground city to see what has brought it to the list of the most unusual places to visit. The first floor was the corridor used to mislead potential pursuers. The second and third floors were considered safe places for refugees and food supplies. The depth of the city floors is about 4 to 16 kilometers meters. Although, you can only visit 400 meters. Excavating more spaces requires time and facilities. You can visit the underground city through two completely separate entrances. The depth of these two entrances is 11 and 12 meters. So, you have to go down more than 40 steps.
It is interesting to know that Nooshabad is also known as the city of Oei. Oei means “Hey”! People were losing each other in these corridors. So, they used the word “Oei” to find each other.

Parau Cave, the most dangerous cave

The Parau cave is located 12 km northeast of Kermanshah, between the Taaq-Bostan and the Biston mountains in the west of Iran. It is famous for being the most dangerous cave in Iran. A vertical cave with a height of 3050 meters! A totally unusual place to visit in Iran! You have to climb more than three thousand meters from Parau Mountain. Therefore, in addition to caving techniques, you must also have enough experience in the field of mountaineering. But what can you find there? In this cave, the running water has flowed from the melting of underground glaciers.
The water and the high height have caused the cave to be cold, and the temperature is between 1 to 3 degrees Celsius. So if you are a professional caveman and you are craving adventure, you should visit here during spring and summer. The cold weather makes it impossible to enter during the autumn and winter seasons.

Unusual places to visit in Iran: Parau Cave

Qeshm, Stars valley

In the west of Borka Khalaf village, the Stars Valley, which is about 2 million years old, has been formed due to soil, rock, and sand erosion. As one of the most unusual places in Iran, the walls of this valley are made of two completely different materials, including a thick and almost soft layer of white to light gray and a thin layer of white to dark gray on it. The Stars Valley is one of the unique geological phenomena. But why? People believe that one day a star fell from the sky into Qeshm island and created strange shapes from soil, stone, and sand. The wind makes strange noises among the rocks of the valley. These noises have made locals think that supernatural beings live there. This beautiful place seems more mysterious at night. Takht-e Suleiman is located 45 km northeast of the city of Takab in the West Azerbaijan Province. This place was the educational and religious center of the Zoroastrian religion. What makes it an unusual place? People have made many beliefs about this place. One of the most known of these beliefs is about the natural lake of Takht-e-Suleiman. It is said that the lake came into existence by a number of extraterrestrial beings who worked for Soleiman. People also believed that there are the hidden treasures of Suleiman in the depths of this lake, however, no one has ever dared to look for the treasure! The most outstanding feature of the lake is that the water temperature neither exceeds nor goes down, it is always 21 degrees centigrade. Trekking in Kurdistan, Iran

Trekking in Kurdistan will be a magnificent experience for all nature lovers. We will overview one of the most exciting programs in the beautiful Kurdistan region, which has been operated several times for different passengers. So, it would be quite reliable if you are traveling independently as well.

Day 01: Arrival

Arriving at Imam Khomeini airport, in Tehran, you will be transferred to the hotel after a short greeting.

Day 02: Tehran

In the morning, we will start our city tour in Tehran including the Archeological Museum, Jewelry Museum (Saturday to Tuesday), Golestan Palace (UNESCO World Heritage sites), and in the evening we will visit Tabiaat Bridge to have dinner, then we will go back to the hotel and rest.

Day 03: Tehran to Isfahan. Stop at Kashan.

After breakfast, we will drive toward Isfahan.
During the journey, we will stop at magnificent Kashan to visit one of the Iran UNESCO heritage sites called Bagh-e Fin (Fin Garden). Then we visit one of the architectural masterpieces, which was a merchant house 200 years ago. After lunch, the trip continues to Isfahan. Arriving in the evening, we will check in at the hotel. The famous 400-year-old bridge of Isfahan will welcome you while you are walking on it and sit in lovely cafes for a break. Overnight in a hotel.

Day 04: To Shahre Kurd

On the fourth day of our trip, we continue our exploration in Isfahan and visit the UNESCO world heritage sites in Naghsh-e Jahan square. Imam and Sheikh Lotfollah mosques and Ali Qapu Palace in this square are the most famous sites to visit. Then we will visit Bazaar and have some time for shopping, and then we will drive toward Share Kurd, arrive, and check-in hotel. The evening will be a great time for leisure.

Day 05: Vastegan to Durak

In the morning visit the old house of the former governor of Shahr-e Kurd and then drive to Pashandegan, drive through the mountainous road of Durak, slight hiking toward a waterfall (1h trekking in normal slope) and then we will come back to the road and continue our way toward Vastegan. We will camp there the night.

Day 06: Cheshme Ab-e Sard to Tang-e Zendan

On the second day of the trekking, the group will have a spectacular view from Tang-e Zendan, one of the most beautiful mountain viewpoints, which offers a view of more than 40 kilometers above impressive cragged scenery with gorges. Start hiking through Sabz kooh toward Tang-e Zendan (2800m). En route, we will meet nomads and have a break at their amazing campsite. Trekking will take about 6 hours in Tang-e Zendan area. An then we will camp in the Cheshme Ab-e Sard area. O/N in Camp.

Day 07: Cheshme Ab-e Sard to Biraghan

On this day of the tour, after a very fresh breakfast, the group will trek in the middle of nomad country. Trek about 5 hours toward Biraghan village. During this trek, we have enough stops for lunch and rest. Arrive in Biraghan. O/N in camp.

Day 08: To Sar Agha Seyed

After breakfast, we will start our hiking toward Sar Agha Seyed village; the scenic route to the village gives you a lot of photo opportunities so do not forget to pick it. Continue hiking to the main road which will take about 5 hours time then drive toward the village. O/N in a local house.

Faschinating Kurdistan, Iran

Day 09: Bi Abeh

After a local breakfast provided by our host, we will start hiking toward Bi Abeh village through Zagrous valley (about 12 km), meet nomads on the way, and arrive at Lira village. have local lunch, short break beside nomad people then continue toward Bi Abeh village and camp there. O/N in camp.

Day 10: Bi Abeh to Saleh Kotah

After breakfast, we start hiking toward Saleh Kotah village through the valley. When we will arrive at Saleh Kotah village, we will jump on the local car and drive to Sar Agha Seyed village. O/N in a local house.

Ascend: 600 meters

Day 11: Return to Tehran

Today we drive toward Chehelgerd, visit Yakhma Ice cave and Sheikh Ali Khan waterfall, then we will continue toward Choghakhur international wetland, a photo stop there and continue toward Isfahan, have dinner at Jolfa district and hang out with Iranians in cafés. Then we will transfer to the airport and fly back to Tehran.

Day 12: cooking class and departure

On the 12th day of the tour, we will have a cooking class. Before starting to cook, we will go to Tajrish square and visit the area and buy the ingredients for cooking then the class will be started. Have lunch we will pay a visit to the Niyavaran palace, the last residence of Iran’s King before the revolution in 1979. For the farewell, dinner will go to Darband. Back to the hotel for the last night’s rest.

Golestan national park, A little piece of heaven

Golestan is known as the oldest national park and is considered one of the most valuable areas in Iran in terms of biodiversity and animal diversity. Attractions and features

Golestan National Park is the first registered and largest national park in Iran. It is a protected area in the east of Golestan province and the west of North Khorasan province. In 1975, it became the first national park in Iran, which has been registered in the UNESCO World Heritage List as one of the 50 habitats on Earth. This park has unique limestone high cliffs with a low slope and is located between the Caspian Sea and the arid eastern regions. This waterfall is called Ocher, and its height reaches about 110 meters, which is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the Golestan forest. It is a seasonal waterfall and appears only in spring. You can see the Aghsoo waterfall too, which is about 70 meters high. Visit the Qarto, the Zav, and the Madarsoo rivers may also fascinate you. They offer unforgettable beauties.
There are parking lots and campsites for rest and overnight stay in Golestan National Park. They have tables and benches, stoves, trash cans, and toilets. Iran and Russia sign an action plan to implement a bilateral visa-free agreement

Iran’s Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts and Russia’s Federal Agency for Tourism have recently signed a joint action plan to waive visas for tourists’ groups. The action plan was developed by a joint technical committee following the visa-free agreement signed by Hassan Rouhani and Vladimir Putin, presidents of Iran and Russia, in 2017. According to this agreement, Iranian and Russian tour groups of 5 to 50 will be granted a visa-free stay of up to 15 days in both countries.
Friendly relationships and remarkable capacity for cultural tourism in Iran and Russia are promising factors that have led the two countries to ink this action plan.
More than 60,000 Iranian tourists traveled to Russia annually and over 36,000 Russian tourists visited Iran in return, before the outbreak of Coronavirus. This number is expected to grow as the vaccination process has sped up and both countries hope for the flourishing of the tourism industry during the post-pandemic era.
Prior to this agreement, a similar visa-free agreement had been signed between Russia and China which resulted in increased tourist flow. Tour operators and tourism experts of both countries hope for the same growth this time.
Russian tourism experts believe that positive reflections rising from the experience Russian travelers have had in Iran especially on social media, “has caused a great deal of enthusiasm and interest.”
Negotiations have already been commenced among the tour operators of both countries to incorporate tours from Iran and Russia into their travel itineraries.
Iran aims for an annual number of 20 million tourists by 2025 and is taking proactive measures in line with this long-term goal.

Kandovan is located in the East Azarbaijan province, in the city of Osko. Osko city is placed 30 kilometers from Tabriz. The rock architecture of the houses has a particular charm and it is known for one of the best summer destinations in Iran. You can take a look at bazaars, restaurants, and museums among the houses. You should be aware of rock stairs. Also, if you intend to stop and relax, you can go to Laleh Hotel. Iran is a country of culture and nature. There are lots of amazing nature highlights such as mountains and deserts, that are as famous as Persepolis. Tehran; the capital of Iran offers mountain destinations of more than 3000-meter height. So, if you are an adventurer and like to climb or ski, Tehran is the best destination for your holidays. In this text, we introduce four famous Tehran mountains you should climb, that aren’t only high, but also so wonderful and dazzling.

1. Darband; the historical village

Darband is one of the old villages of the Shemiran neighborhood in the north of Tehran. Darband Street starts from Tajrish Square at an altitude of 1,600 meters above sea level and ends at Sarband Square at an altitude of 1,800 meters above sea level.
Here is an excellent area with a pleasant climate, where many capitalists take refuge from the hustle and bustle of the city to enjoy its stunning scenery and to eat a delicious meal in its countless restaurants, but this is not the whole story. The area has great mountains, that are near Tehran so you can go mountaineering and enjoy the pleasant weather and the scenic environment easily. The best time of the day to go climbing Darakeh is early in the morning; because you do not face the crowds of the route and you have enough time to go back and forth and enjoy the natural scenery of this pleasant climate.
The mountain valley of Darakeh offers special and unique features that distinguish it from other summer destinations. The highest part of the Darakeh mountains, known as the Shahneshin peak, is 3,800 meters high. Annual rainfall in this region averages 300 to 400 mm and the average temperature reaches 16 degrees Celsius; this means that most of the year, the weather is cool. In summer, it has 21 species of local plants that grow exclusively in this area so it has different medicinal plants. It is interesting to know that the Darakeh River is fed by the Precipitation and the rainfall water is used to irrigate gardens, lands and compensate Tehran’s water shortage. Another feature of this amazing mountain valley can be considered its mountaineering route, which doubles the pleasure of climbing in Iran.

3.Tochal; the peak of Tehran

Tochal resort is a peak in the north of Tehran with a height of 3,962 meters, which is part of the Alborz mountain range. The southern slope of the resort is adjacent to the city of Tehran and its peak overlooks the city. There are lots of highlights in Tochal as follows;
• The resort cable car is one of the most famous attractions of the resort, which has three main lines and seven stations, one ski lift, and three cable cars.
Station one is located at an altitude of 1,900 meters, stations two and three are located at an altitude of 2,480 meters, stations five and six are located at an altitude of 2,910 meters, and station seven is located at an altitude of 3,680 meters. With a length of approximately 7,500 meters, this cable car is one of the longest cable car lines in the world, which allows you to travel comfortably to an altitude of 3,680 meters above sea level, and you can enjoy the pleasant air of Tehran’s heights to the fullest.
If you are tempted to use the resort cable car, you should know that May, June, October, and November are the best time to climb the peak of the resort.

• Tochal ski slope is one of the most popular ski resorts in Iran and the closest ski slope to Tehran (five kilometers north of the city) and therefore you no longer need to spend a lot of time driving and returning to your place of residence after an exciting day of skiing. Due to its high altitude in the seventh station, which reaches 3,500 meters above sea level, the ski resort is the first snow-covered ski slope in the country, which can often be used for eight months of the year in rainy years.
Due to the suitable slope of the resort, it is an ideal place for skiing enthusiasts. To access this resort, you have to go to the seventh station of the cable car and enjoy the presence of the most experienced ski instructors and the best ski school equipment. In addition to a ski lift, the track has a cable car (Dopplemayr), a hotel, and two restaurants.

4. Kolakchal

Kolakchal is the name of one of the peaks of the central Alborz mountain range in the north and one of the sights of Tehran, which has become one of the main resorts for mountaineers and ordinary people today. The height of the Kolakchal peak is 3,350 meters above sea level, which is very attractive to climb due to the beautiful and spectacular route.
Kolakchal is one of the most suitable mountaineering routes all days of the week, which you can enjoy this beautiful nature to the fullest, with its simple mountaineering equipment and ordinary experience.
There are different routes to climb this peak, the most important of which can be considered the route of the beautiful Jamshidiyeh park.
Jamshidiyeh park with its many trees, plants, and flowers is one of the largest parks in Iran and tourist attractions of Tehran province that can be used for a morning exercise. You have to come to this park to go to Kolakchal; Head west to the park, where the cobblestone road continues northwest. After about 400 meters, you will reach a spring that has cool and refreshing water. From here, the road goes up in a spiral, and after passing through several rest areas where food is also served, it reaches a relatively large area, which is about 2,300 meters high.
