Golestan National Park is the first registered and largest national park in Iran. It is a protected area in the east of Golestan province and the west of North Khorasan province. In 1975, it became the first national park in Iran, which has been registered in the UNESCO World Heritage List as one of the 50 habitats on Earth. This park has unique limestone high cliffs with a low slope and is located between the Caspian Sea and the arid eastern regions.
