Kandovan village (Iran) tour (Best Price, Photos, Itinerary)
Kandovan is the only inhabited cliff village in the world, With homes carved inside rocks. This extraordinary village is said to have been partially formed by volcanic remains from Mount Sahand eruptions about 700 to 1500 years ago based on geological studies. The natural architecture of the village is quite fascinating and unique in the world.
What you will find interesting about these homes is the fact that the rock acts as energy-efficient material, keeping the houses cool during summer and warm during winter.
Traveling to East Azarbaijan, near the city of Tabriz, many tourists would take time to visit this impressive village and the people's lifestyle here. There is also a “Rocky Hotel” in the village with beautiful cave interiors to have an overnight stay.
